"Two" Good To Be True! Last Saturday was truly such a great day at RAM that I started to worry about how we would follow such a strong opening day. Then, I remembered that we have TWO great activities happening this week - the national kickoff of the Toyota Farm-to-Table Tour, and Riverkeeper Day at RAM! (Now do you understand why it's "Two" good to be true? It's not that I can't spell, I was just being "punny!") The Toyota Farm-to-Table Tour was one of our RAM-fans favorite events when they were here our first year. The pairing of fresh local produce from our farmers/growers with some of the area's best chefs creates a fantastic and healthy combination. I encourage you to come out and learn and sample some new recipes, and get a free herb plant (while supplies last) from Toyota. Some of their hybrid cars will also be on display should you be thinking about going green and getting some relief from these HIGH gas prices. For me, there are few things better than spending a nice relaxing day-off sailing on the St. John's River! Living here, I think people often take it for granted and forget what a precious resource it is. Now that we have a boat dock at RAM, it is only appropriate that we help promote safe and environmentally-friendly use of the river, as we also encourage everyone to help protect it. The St. John's Riverkeeper will be at RAM on Saturday providing information, education, and fun. There will also be a Rain Barrel Design Contest where we are asking you to vote for your favorite design while supporting the Riverkeeper! The barrel that has collected the most donations at the end of the day will be the winner. Come see some of the artistic designs - you're going to want one for your home! There are several new artists and vendors at RAM this year, so if you didn't do it last week, come by and welcome them to RAM. I know I still have several additions to our RAMily that I am looking forward to meeting, and I didn't get a chance to welcome back many of our great returning vendors. I have one big dilemma as we move into our second week - what will I have for lunch on Saturday? There are SO many great food vendors it's hard to choose! (Now that I think about it, that's not a bad dilemma to have, is it?) See you there! Teri |
